A New Journey
Hearing the front door swing open, the small child jumps out of bed and runs acroos the floor to greet the man coming home. "Papa, papa! Tell me the story?"
The grizzled old huntsman smiled, eyes twinkling as he reached down to pat the young girl on the head. Her blonde curls bouncing and twining up around his work hardened hands and her delicately pointed elven ears.. "And what story would that be, little wood sprite?" He asked mischieviously.
"Papa!" the girl raised her voice. Then from the doorway another voice called.
"Danyl, tell the child her story or she'll never get herself to bed!"
Liara's voice was soflty melodious, full of love and kindness.....and just a touch of exasperation. Grinning in the direction of his wife, Danyl gathered the girl into his arms and sat in a chair by the fire.
"Now then, this story begins on a day like any other. 'Twas early in the morn, just after dawn as I recall. The sky was gray and overcast, like it 'tis every winter. I was out to track down a deer. Nothing in mind to show what a special day it would be.
As I walked, the noises of the wood surrounded me. You know child, the sound of the animals nesting or feeding, the call of the birds, the wind rustling through the trees. I've taught you to listen to such signs of the wood. Well, anyway, the noises were all normal. But then, a new sound I heard. A cry full of fear and loneliness. A cry I'd never before heard in my woods. Turning in surprise to look towad that sound, I saw a bright ray of sunlight shining through the trees onto the ground. But only this single ray, all around was 'nought but the gray of a winters day.
Curious as to what this sight was, I went that direction. When I got to the spot where the sun shone on the forest floor, there lay a child, surely some sort of wood sprite I thought. Reaching down to pick up this sprite though, I looked into her bright green eyes. And as I held her, some magic overcame me, and I knew she was more than a woodsprite, she was to be my daughter. My very own woodsprite, and so I called her Sunni, for the ray of sun that led me too her."
"And there my Sunni, there is your story. Off to bed with you now!" Danyl said with a chuckle.
The memories bring a soft smile to Sunni's face. It was hard to imagine that he'd been gone for five years now. That was what brought her to the forest today. A day of remembrance for her father. Although there was a grave near the house, she still always felt closest to him in the woods that he loved. Resting up against a stone, her thoughts drift again to the past....and the day that he left her.
"Papa....I'm here," the pretty young woman said softly. Reaching out to grasp the gnarled hand laying on the bedspread, she gazed down into his leathery old face with love.
"Sunni girl, my woodsprite. My elven lass. Such a beautiful girl you've become. Remember what i've taught you of the woods and her creatures. Keep it close to your heart. And do something with your talents, child. You possess a magical spirit that can help others. Use it for good. Go and learn. If you follow your heart you will never be led astray.....always, follow your heart girl."
"In my heart is where you will always be, papa. Right next to mama." And with a sigh and a grin at her, he died. Since then Sunni has lived in the house where she was raised. Living alone and surviving off of what the woods had to offer. Wondering where she should go next, and what she should do. Her father always said she was special, and should do something important with her life.....but what? She would be glad to follow her heart, if only it would lead her somewhere.
Reaching up to wipe a silent tear from her eye, Sunni gazed around her, absently reaching up to trace the odd markings on the stone next to her, wishing for her heart to lead her onwards. Suddenly in a flash of light she disappears.
Re-appearing in a strange place, Sunni blinks in astonishment. What is this place? Where was she? Looking around she sees the same stone, the Origin Stone, standing silently mysterious and magnificent. She is in a new world. Her wish was granted and her heart has led her forward to meet her destiny. What strange adventures would she find in this land? What new people would she meet and befriend? What new stories would be engraven upon her heart as she took this new journey? Pulling herself upright, she mentally prepares herself to meet anything that comes her way with a merry heart and a helpful hand. Then she steps forth into this new land. She steps forth to see what Triad City has to offer.

Conversion
This is the story of the miraculous events that happened to me yesterday in the City. I had been out in the forest ridding the city of the arachnid mencace. I stopped to rest, and when I closed my eyes I felt this great sense of well-being. Feeling my energy retrun in a sudden curiouse rush, I opened my eyes and was astounded. Somehow I had been transported to an Enchanted Garden. Beauty and goodness surrounded me. Standing and gazing in awe, I started following a well-defined path that led me northwards. Soon I was encountering fierce statues of white wolves along the path. But they did not alarm me, in fact, they comforted. I just seemed to know that they would protect me along the way, and that no evil would be allowed to pass. Continuing onwards past the guardians, I soon arrived at a Cathedral. It was built with rows of gleaming pillors, and spotlessly white walls that radiated cleanliness. I was awestruck as I stepped between these majestic pillars. I couldn't help but pause and kneel briefly besdie the penitents and seekers who were worshiping in this holy place. Wandering through the chapel, I soon arrived at a room that was different than the others. In this room stood a statue, like none I'd ever seen before. It seemed that this statue of a goddess was the source of the goodness that filled the whole area. Overcome with emotion, I bowed deeply before the statue in honor and respect. Suddenly, surrounded by a bright light I was with the goddess, Luz, herself! Her words filled my heart-to be good, to seek out evil and destroy it when I could, to venerate all others-all these things were written upon my heart as I was bathed in her radiance. When I was finally released from her presence, I collapsed trembling at the foot of the statue. Feeling completely calm and joyous, but desperately needing rest after such an awesome experience, I slept at the foot of my goddess, Luz. When I awoke, I was once more back in the City I have come to call home, but I am different now. Where once I was more neutral in my attitudes towards others, now I am definately on the good side. I will do as Luz commanded me and work towards the good of those I meet, doing all in my power to show through my actions, the goodness of the goddess herself.
